Regular 3 peak season pass holder with many years of experience on Mt Hutt access road and decades of driving experience in general. 4WD with snow chains, big roof box. $30 p/p at the time of boarding.
Meet at 6:45 behind NPD Yaldhurst (Filly Place), there is plenty of parking for your car.
Returning at closing time or earlier if conditions deteriorate or everybody is ready to call it a day. Chains need to be carried. Keep left to maintain 2-way access and observe the 40km/h speed limit. If you have a line of cars forming behind you, please pull over to allow faster vehicles to pass safely. We are parking at Rakaia Saddle.
Weather Comment
Unfortunately Mt Hutt is closed today due to severe gales. At 6:15am wind speeds over the summit are hitting 135km/h and are forecast to increase through the day. If you are in the Methven area click here for some alternative options. The wind buttons back overnight and at this stage things look good for reopening tomorrow.
